Arber skiing area
The skiing region around the Großer Arber is the largest and most well-known in the Bavarian Forest. At almost 1,500 metres, the Arber mountain has a reputation for excellent snow conditions. A modern cable car and various chair- and draglifts stand for a quick and easy ascent to the very top of the slopes. The pistes vary in level of difficulty and strech over more than 15 kilometers, of which the longest slope is about 5 km long. The area is also home to a number of good ski schools, a Kinderland and an exciting Snowboard Funpark.
If needed, the slopes can be prepared with artificial snow using the very latest snow cannons. These state-of-the-art machines allow a good quality and quantity of snow even when Mother Nature doesn’t help out.
In spite of the modern lifts and machines, the prices and rates for skiing lessons and equipment hire for 2012/ 2013 remain extremely attractive.
